Thank you to all who have given me advice on the problems i have had with my GTI, and all the good chat on numerous topics.
But the time has come for a change, after the last couple of months of problems with the GTI it has speeded things up a little for the change.I have just arranged a deal on a Mini John Cooper Works, after taking one for a drive. I was seriously impressed.
I will be taking my Golf R rear led lights off at the end of the week and putting the standard lights back on, i wil post the advert to sell them on here before i go down the Ebay route, they are just over a year old in perfect condition and will be with the adaptors.
I also have a set of OEM roof bars i will advertise.
I may be back in a couple of years if the MK7 turns out to be a good GTI.

best of luck with the JCW - thats a car ive really fancied for a while now. good choice!
what colour and spec did you go for and what sort of deal are they offering? when i went to test drive a JCW they said they wouldnt give a dscount as they only get them in to order :undecided:
what sort of £ for the roof bars?

Enjoy the MINI JCW. A mate at work has one which I park next too, they are a fun little car to drive.

Its not new didnt want to fork out any more money, found a 58 plate with 29k on the clock in dark silver all the right bits in black, roof, wing mirrors, light surrounds, and option black and silver 18 inch alloys. Its got the Chilli pack, looks awesome.
Paid £12295' from Mini main dealer, they gave me £13000 for the Golf, so going to add a few bits from the accessories.
£50 for the roof bars plus postage, will have to pop to the post office to sort that out, they are OEM ones with the fitting key, ive had them about 2 years.

Sounds a good deal mate! stick around though, loads of folk on here without GTI's these days and always nice to hear opinions on other marques.
Enjoy and don't forget some piccies!
-
Dont pick it up until the 12 Jan, but will be sure to post some pics, and a review of how it drives.

Im swopping my rear R led lights over tomorrow back to the standard lights, so they are for sale £300 plus postage, which i will have to drop into the post office to get a price. I will post the add in the correct section with some pics once the lights are off.

I sold my JCW 4 weeks ago as it was just sat around not being used, it was a 58 plate, dark silver, leather, panoramic roof, a really nice car. Performance is so good and the noise is fantastic, hit the sport button and you can feel the difference. I love the fire cracker note from the exhaust, after a while you can pretty much time your throttle position/gear change and it will let out some superb noises, which makes so many people stop and stare, it really does bring out the childishness in the driver!
I was able to 'compare' my JCW and my GTI side by side a few times, the mini just nudged ahead in acceleration upto 60 (ish) and from there the golf would sit within a cars length.
The Mini will be a bit noisier inside but it didn't rattle, unlike my Golf......
Enjoy it, you won't regret it............. I've almost talked myself into going to buy mine back!!!
