really the only thing you would need to upgrade is the rods as the oem one ive seen fail at 300-350bhp 280-300lbft plus the AGU head flows well for 300-400bhp but id say if your going to do it do it properly.

Im hoping once mine it mapped it should be around that bhp on my AGU, to save money I made the exhaust, TIP, and exhaust manifold and built it all myself but ive still spend thousands!

Once you start you want to do it properly so everything adds up. Ive used a MHI turbo cheap and seem to be much stronger than the IHI turbos. Dont hear many stories of MHI turbos blowing up unlike the IHI.

Get a Garrett if you can afford it but at around 1k, exhaust manifold(decent tubular) around 1K and a down pipe around £400 already talking loads of cash without any of the supporting mods needed!

Engine wise.. Probably a GT28 although I have seen someone make just over 350bhp with a good K04 hybrid, Rods (I.E makes decent ones), possibly uprate the exhaust valves. Someone like Nick at R-Tech/Bill at Badger5 could give you more of an idea of the injectors you'd need. The engines are pretty strong, its the rods that are supposedly the weakest part.

Then work on flow, good intercooler core, 2.5" IC pipework, 3" exhaust, probably a relentless manifold or similar, WMI, good TIP.

Just dont forget, it's all good and well having 350bhp, but if it was me I'd certainly want bigger brakes, and probably upgrade the suspension set up too. Im sure alot of people would also advise an LSD at that power.

Injector wise for the AGU you want Bosch 440cc (green giants) or bigger ones Siemens Deka 630cc

Prawn is the only one I know of who has made 350 true BHP on a K04 Hybride.

He's only here every now and then but your best bet is to have a look over on ASN. They have come up with a formula that works well. The AGU engine is the best starting point and I've also just bought one to rebuild. Here's Prawns build thread to have a good read through. It's a must read!

K04 hybrid and look for usable power over a great range rather than a peak figure

WMI, Relentless manifold, Wellycooler with 62mm pipe work, B5 V2.2 TIP, cone filter, 3" DP with de cat and then turbo of you choice. Oh and a trip to B5 or r-tech for a map!
What rods do you have planned on using? Also worth fitting new piston rings.
