Post by: AD1.8T on 21 December 2012, 18:28
As above has anyone found the tt bush to be abit unforgiving ? I changed all bushes ect a fair while ago now and the tt bushes are still solid every dip/crack/stone in the road feels like a fooking mountain it was like that with both my joms and now my weitecs but before with the old bushes it had SOME comfort anyone else found this?

You need to have your wishbones level. Then your car will handle as well as it can. And the bush will in its natural position

The way you reply in most of your posts seems all to familier :undecided:

Ran the TT bushes on mine and thought they were great

Im not sure what it is thats causing it to feel that way to be fair the front end in general feels harsh..... I dont want to go and put standard bushes in if its not going to help!

:undecided: is that first comment aimed at me??  :undecided:

The front did feel stiff but for me the improved feedback was a good trade off

I had the weitecs on my mk2. So not an exact comparison. Went from a weitec fixed height kit to the coilovers. Ultimately I regretted it as I didn't want to go lower. Just thought coilovers were better.
I found on bumpy roads I was going slower from bouncing all over the place. They did get better with more use and broke in.

I can't see it being the bush myself. My mum had a mk1 TT. If anything it was more lardy than my mk4 :)

There is a loose science in setting up coilovers, and the front end geometry. It was described to me on another forum. Something to do with scrub radius, rake. And piston travel matched with preload on the coil.
But basically if the wishbones are flat, it will corner and handle better than being wound down.

I'm by no means an expert, just played around a lot on my mk2 which was fully pollybushed. And I would never use Polly's as extensively again. Not fit coils that weren't fully damping adjustable.
