New problem for me. I need to crank the car twice before it turns over. This has been happening the last few days.
The first turn I get nothing really as no response except the lights on the dash fading.
I then try to crank again and it starts normally.
Anyone help with the problem as I don't want to have it not start when I really need it to..
This information may be important as well. The other night when I came to a full stop after driving for awhile the petrol needle lowered by an entire quarter. After I got moving again it gradually returned to the same level as when I stopped. Never has done that before in the past.
Just wondering if this is the fuel filter/fuel lines or something else totally.
Hope someone can help because I don't want to be in the car with three kids and have it not start over Christmas...:(

Battery maybe or a poor earth

Id say battery but get it checked out 1st

I'd say it could be starter motor, my truck kept doing this, had to crank it first, no response, tried it 2nd time round and it fired up, until it completely burnt out starter, and I had to buy a new one

great how much does a starter cost....:(

You can get a new starter motor for about £80 or a secondhand one for about £20 plus postage on eBay, get someone to crank it over for you and check if there are any sparks coming from the starter motor, if there are you have a bad earth to the starter, also check to see if any of the wires going to it are any damaged.
