Well my EGR delete kit arrived from Bulgaria the other day, £20 cheaper than buying from the U.K  so thought I would give a little write up since a few people have been asking about it
First things first, the kit costs £37 delivered and arrived after exactly 2 weeks, not bad for Bulgaria.
The kit is actually of decent quality and comes with everything needed to fit it:
Delete pipe
Gasket
Blanking plate
Gasket
Jubilee clip
Bolts (Not actually required)
The kit itself is very simple to fit, about a 10 minute job apart from the turbo pipe, the turbo pipe is the part where some people may squirm  The only way I could see of fitting is to just cut it flush with the metal flange, so I done this and the pipe was a good tight fit onto the delete pipe. One thing I will say is that the jubilee clip isn't really substantial enough to hold the turbo pipe in place so I would get yourself a better clip/clamp
Since I have fitted I think there's a difference, personally I can feel a smoother pull through the revs, this is maybe just mind games, but at least it's good news! Plus it does mean that my engine is now running on constant clean air instead of recirculated exhaust gasses too! With this kit I can only see plusses.
Here's the pictures to show what it looks like:

Nice and subtle.

Now I've got the boost gauge fitted and I think it's looking pretty good :)

And now with the pod :)

Is it that simple to fit then? Post the link up where you got it from then
-
It really is that simple..But there currently isn't an ebay link for it as it sold out, think the company name is Deepzone :)
-
righty hoe cheers  By the way what's your airbox??
-
Simota. Carbon Induction kit ;)
-
Nice one mate. Notice a difference after fitting it?
-
Yea personally I feel a smoother and more fluent pull through the rev range :nerd:
-
All done! :)
-
Nice job on the pod  just bought a delete kit a allard one £62 looks simple enough to do.
-
Couldn't be much easier really, and you'll like the difference. Trouble is..Engine Management light..hahaha

Friend of mine with a 150 bhp tdi done his no engine light think the cars a 2003

Generally anything post 52 tends to throw up a light :undecided:

Mines a 53 plate, 150 bhp, ARL, throws up a code when driving slow through town. Going to get it mapped out this month.

Yeah he had it mapped at R Tech.Mines been mapped by its last owner so I take it mine will throw a light up?
-
Will have been mapped out then

Why do some EGR deletes have what appears to be a little vac pipe out of it, when others don't?

Why do some EGR deletes have what appears to be a little vac pipe out of it, when others don't?
That goes to the boost gauge, some won't have a boost gauge hooked up where as mine does which is why mine has a silicone pipe coming off it :)

So if you had one with this said vac pipe, and you weren't running a boost gauge, I take it you would need to block it, so you didn't lose boost?
-
Yea that's right, mine actually never came with a boost gauge outlet, I had to plumb my own in :)

I'm learning, I think!
So what do I do with this small vac pipe then, when I fit the EGR delete?

Ohhhh that vac pipe...screw a bolt up it to block it off. It's surpus to requirements now, just block it off and forget about it :) You put in a new bit of pipe if you wantva boost gauge and just forget about that one, all it does is opperate the egr cslve, which will no longer be there :) Hope that helps?

Yeh cheers mate. I've got a link to simplifying the web if vac pipes, but I'll do this initially before embarking on that one!

No worries, if you need any help just ask :)

Fitted my delete kit today and got to say its the best £62 ive spent on my car drives and pulls so much better worth every penny and very easy to fit...
And where's the pics and 'how to'?
-
In the box with the kit when you buy it  really is very simple idiot proof
-
...optimistic of a 'how to' I'll concede. Expect to see one made when I buy one
But a picture of it fitted in your bay?
-
1. Remove engine cover.
2. Prize tge clips up off the turbo pipe until they click.
3. Wiggle turbo pipe untill it comes away from the egr valve and other intercooler pipe.
4. With a ratchet, knuckle ended extension and a 5mm allan begin to undo the 3 bolts.
5. Remove the vacuum pipes from the egr valve, and proceed to take the bolts out.
6. With the ratchet extension and allan you should be able to get to the bottom bolts holding the bottom egr pipe to the manifold, take these out also.
7. Now you can take the egr valve out and see how much dirt has gathered up in there!!
8. Get the blanking plate and gasket if supplied, fit with original bolts to the bottom of the manifold where the pipe came from.
9. Once those bolts are tight you can fit tge delete pipe, with with original bolts and with the gasket, just do it in reverse order of taking the egr valve off.
10. Now you vave to butchrr your black turbo pipe you took off, with a hacksaw cut down where the clip goes and the metal bit will come away from the rubber.
11. Now you can fit the turbo pipe onto your intercooler pipe and egr delte, make sure the clip on the intercooler snaps firmly in and the turbo pipe slides nicely over the delete, I used two jubilee clips to hold it firmly in place.
12. Lastly blank off your two vacuum pipes with a couple of 6mm bolts so that it holds vacuum and that's it!
As for a picture of it fitted in the bay, go to page one ;)
If you want a how to for a boost gauge installation just ask :)
-
My bay is dirty at the min as its never been cleaned  hense no picture

doesn't the butterfly in the EGR system also help reduce the judder you get when you turn the engine off?
how is that now this has been fitted? Tempted to fit 1 myself, but don't want violent shut offs :(
-
Just a quick question as i want to do this on mine, But by removing the EGR will this cause any damage

Personally I haven't noticed a difference, some people do but mine is fine :)

None at all, its good to get rid of it, makes sure the engine is running a lot cleaner! :)

Your coolant is way too full

Hmm yea you would think that..but thats where it has to be to stop the light coming on..not that it causes a problem at that level anyway :)
-
I know that the 130pd and 150pd have a larger bore than the 115pd, but would the EGR delete (for them) bolt on to my 115pd?
I want to run 57mm pipe work to the intercooler, but little point if I have to purchase the 51mm bore EGR delete :undecided:

Hmm this depends how the 3 bolt holes would line up..if they lined up then no problem :)

Good plan! ;)
