Hello all, as a last resort I'm hoping for a quick response from the more experienced of us...
2 weeks ago I had to overtake someone while going very steep uphill while it was raining very hard, and as I was passing him on full throttle and full boost, the front wheels skipped slightly because of small bumps and soaking water. This made the TC light (ASR) flicker a few times which is absolutely normal. But a minute later while driving normally the light came back on and stayed on no matter what I did with the TC button. Well thank god I have pilot sport 3's, i'm telling you they're so good that wheel spin and the ASR light became a thing of the past, and at least I have that to compensate for no TC now!
Then a minute later the engine check light also came on! I used my fault code reader to reveal p0102 which is the MAF sensor low input, but nothing about TC.
So I took the MAF out and sprayed with crc MAF cleaner through the little grills as I don't have the correct star shape tool with hole in the middle (to take the actual sensor part out of the MAF housing) but that didn't make a difference. I'm wondering if it's worth me getting that tool so I can spray directly on the sensitive part of the MAF.
As for the TC I feel the cable or sensor might have unplugged itself but for the life of me I have no idea where to look, even with google and forum help. Can someone please advise ASAP, thank you for reading.

the maf code usually triggers the traction control light too. If you scan the abs for faults it'll say something like "check DTC memory of engine controller". Thats not to say there arent other abs/esp related faults in there too! you might need to find someone with vagcom if your code reader can't get in to the abs module.

Even if my tc came on first yeah? I'll see if my friend has the right tool to take the middle section out of the MAF housing, so if successful there is a chance both lights will go out then? I hope i dont need to reset anything with yet another tool, I have till saturday to resit the MOT. They are failing me on ABS problem.

Yeah, my t/c light came on before my CEL.
Why would you want to take the middle of the MAF housing out? :undecided:

To spray onto the filament itself, and avoid replacing the MAF. Reminds me of regularly spraying carb cleaner into the isv of my old mk2. You all saying the only fix is buying a new maf?

I've got new pagid discs and pads ready to go on the front, as the MOT guy says one side is breaking more than the other, and the discs might need a clean. I'm not convinced but there's a noticeable lip on the discs so I'm just changing them all. ECP are doing good deals on them now
