Title: Size of standard CAT on golf gti 8v?

Bought a race manifold and getting it fitted tomorrow and it says its got to have 510mm CAT or the decat pipe fitted, can anyone tell me if my standard exhaust system will be alright?  :whistle:

My 97 AGG is the long cat. So would think the early 8v are short.
