Title: Distributor cap

Hello,

I have just brought a new distributor cap for my Mk 3 16v GTI. The old one is Bosch and has a black cover around it. The new one is the orange/brown colour and does not have the black cover. Can I swop them straight over or does the cover need to come off the old one ?

I think the cover is specific to the Bosch unit. I would just try it on the new one anyway to be sure though.

You normally just swap the cover over on to the new cap.
