Title: Backbox heat shield query

Hi Gentlemen,

I've just taken off the exhaust heat shield - The clips had corroded and it was catching against the road.

My question: is it safe to drive for prolonged periods of time without the heat shield? The back box is about 4-6 inches away from the petrol tank... The petrol tank is made from plastic.

Is this going to cause problems. If so where can I buy the clips from? Volkswagen?

ive not got any heatsheilding on my g60, nor did i have it on the previous 3 8vs before that.

and im still alive!!!!!!!!!!!

its just an excuse for a rattle!  :smiley:
