Hi
I have just had the coolant sensor replaced on my 2.0 gti.
Before at tick over you could hardly tell the engine was running, but since i have had the car back..the engine is quite noticably alot louder!!!
Is it possible the garage could have inadvertedly done something whilst replacing the sensor???

thats abit strange, when you say louder are you talking about it on tick over or as your going along?
Ive noticed my engine sounds abit louder and sounds like it has abit of a grunt now when i put my foot down (which is nice) but i bet its a warning signal that something else is gonna break lol

Oh my God!!!!! Please dont say that!!!
Just on tick over mate!!!
Rang the garage this morning and they said basically they just unclip the old sensor and clip in the new one, so basically there is nothing that could have made any difference!!
I dont know, maybe its just me....just before i noticed how quiet is was (you could hardly hear the engine running) and now it just sounds louder!!!!!
Mind i have noticed a slight judder thats got worse on tick over like its not tickin over right....but again its only very slight!!!!!
