Few more days till I get the last of the pipe work it's a bit different for the golf than the Audi (for the cold side) it's a bit of trial and error and so far it's been 2 errors!!!!

You sure dude? Toby copied mine exactly and it worked just fine.

I can't see any reason why the golf cold side would be any different to the A3?

its the map sensor it throws the pipe out too far and also the elbows i had were very long so it wouldnt meet up (and i dont have a beading tool to mod the alloy), so now gonna get a 135 degree bend hopefully it will work (also a slightly shorter run of piping)

ah, I see. sorry dude, I thought you were following my guide.

the way I've shown in my guide will work perfectly on a golf, with or without a map sensor.. you simply use the map pipe in place of the 4'' joiner I user behind the headlight.

You're missing a 90 degree bend from that arrangement, that's why it won't work.

Don't get a 135, get another 90 in alloy, turn the 45 off the cooler down further, then insert the alloy 90 point upwards, and it'll connect into the upper 90 shown in the picture just fine.

Are you also using a smaller core?

I tried it with the alloy 90 in place and it would have worked if the pipe was shorter but as I have no beading tool I couldn't cut it. That's when I spun the 45 up and it looked like the 135 will marry up with it.

I was thinkin that the turn could be quite sharp but there is a 180 the other side so didn't think it will matter that much (and anyway I've already sent the pipes back!!!!)

Oh and yeah I was following your guide its a great help

You can push the joints further together if needs be mate. A few f mine har 4-5" of overlap. Just keep the clips near the bead.

Sounds like you had bad luck. I've gotten loads of these without issues as not had to trim any pipes :(
