Title: oil temperature gauge
Post by: Scott D on 12 December 2012, 00:11
has anyone fitted an oil temp gauge specifically a newsouth gauge and sender?

from what I gather there is a 10" blanking plug on the oil filter housing that can be used but will the sender unit fit or is a sandwich plate required?

cheers

I don't think the probe will fit in there. Just run it from the sump plug via an adapter like I have

Oil temp probe will not fit the spare port on the filter housing as it is not deep enough, oil pressure will fit however.

Best option as Wazzer said is to run an adaptor on the sump plug.

what ever you do, DO NOT fit a newsouth oil pressure gauge. the quality of the sensors are very poor and snap in the oil filter housing.

I'll give the newsouth a miss then, would expect quality considering how much they cost.

Will have a look for an adaptor.
