Hello, ive just recently had put another engine in my car, better cleaner engine. All was going well until we tried to start her! We have no spark! changed coil, rotar arm dizzy cap, ECU and Module checked earths the lot! Been having another go this evening and checked all electrical terminals with the right testing gear, all is good to the coil then still no spark! any help would be very gratefull.
Thanks
Jono.

Compression?
-
are you missing the earth strap from behind coil onto block
-
Compression doesn't have anything to do with not
Sparking or does it?
Earth strap to coil and block is fitted.
-
Compression?
Compression is fine
-
Hall sender caput?
King lead spark?
Any of the leads spark?
I had to change two coils over due to being duds rubbing my hair that night for sure?

Hall sender is working done the test on it.
No spark at plug or the king lead, it was all
Working fine until Change over.

You have voltage going to the coil terminals right?
-
Is the dizzy set right?
-
Dizzy wont make a difference if he is getting no spark on king lead.
Are you getting pulse on coil trigger wire when cranking?

Yeah getting pulse when cranking

Was the changed coil a known good one, or you have wiring to terminals incorrect on the coil

Got coil from motor factors, just a silver one.
Me uncle who has been helping me with it has been
A mechanic for many I'm sure he would have wired
Coil up correct been going off Haynes manual wiring diagram.

Like I said had two dudd coils in the past!
Its a simple system of elimination plugs, HT leads, dizzy cap, king lead, coil, power. Working your way up is the only way you can diagnose this and rightly said from someoone if an earth is not properly mounted to the firewall it will not spark. I bought two coils brand new from motor factors both were gone third one fired right up the chap who sold me the coil even came down to see what was wrong and bought the third coil down to me wired it up fire up good, re-wired the old new ones dead as a dodo! :lipsrsealed:

Right well this third one I've had on it but the first new one.
Next thing is new ht leads I think it's only thing I've not bought!
Will keep you posted.

if you are not getting a spark from the coil terminal then its pretty pointless replacing HT leads! get a spark from the coil before replacing anything after it.
-
If there is no power going into coil, could it not be the ignition switch?
-
There is power and pulse signal going to the coil tho
-
Weird would expect king lead to have something guessing its been wired up wrong and its earthing on the chassis near the coil iteself somewhere?
Earth strap should be on the coil holder to firewall rest should be straight forward?

The earth strap is from the coil holder onto engine block!?

Depends Ive seen them bolted to firewall but need to get some voltage readings when it pulses it might be there but not strong enough to charge coil?
