Title: Buy Cheap, buy twice?
Post by: bullzeye on 11 December 2012, 19:33
Hi all

Well last year i changed my clutch on my standard 1.8t AGU i opted for the vr6/g60 upgrade

this was august 2011, now 16 month later my clutch is slipping really bad, i havent ragged it , had it remapped or anything like that, i contacted Techniclutch on ebay , where i bought it from, but they did not want to know as its over 12 month ago, and it can be slipping due to driver error. which is bullsh!t, i know how to drive .

Do you think i was conned ,and that the clutch they sold me was not genuine or could it be something else making it slip?

can anyone recommend me where to get another vr6 g60?

Maybe your clutch has got contaminated due to oil leak into the bell housing ?

I know they are ryt c4nts mate they fooked me around for month when ordered clutch kit that never turned up then finally got my refund

I went for luk kit in end was ace in car but i sold the gti half year later so dont know how long lasted :lipsrsealed:

there is a 4 year warranty on these kits as per their adverts, did a qualified mech fit it?

Hate to say it, but I haven't heard a good thing about Techniclutch. Look into that 4 year warranted clutch. The SMF should never fail.

Techniclutch says it all......search goolge for reviews!!!

Don't tarnish all cheaper products with the brush.. I've had some very good cheap parts and some rubbish.

Speaking of Steve, am I right in thinking you have some J&R DS for your DERV? One of mine has split after <12 months...Will be sending back as still under warranty.

I didn't realise the kit had a four year warranty he didn't mention that when I rang him , he dI'd say if it's wear and tear its nothing to didn't with them he would only change It if it's faulty . Which they will prob say it's wear and tear so they don't have to send me a new one . I'll have to pay to get it removed . And have the car off the road in the meantime

So does the warranty come from Sachs or techniclutch?
