hi to all please can anyone help me my speedometer has started playing up for the last week instead of rising steadily its started ticking like a clock till it gets to about 25 mph when slowing its smooth like it should be. could the cold damp weather affect it as its been fine untill recentley its one of those annoying probs car has done 70k is a 2002 mk4 gti turbo its had a lot of work done on it and ive checked for any fault codes no prob there if you have any ideas please get in touch i would be very grateful hope to hear from someone thanks stan

Could either be speedo sensor or the clocks themselves

Thank you for reply ile start with sensor well a friend will I'm not much of a mech if that doesn't fix prob what sort of price are we looking at for a new clock would like to upgrade the clocks if I have to put new ones in what do you recommend thank you very much for your help.
