Title: Mk6 questions sorry!
Post by: Ash3000k on 10 December 2012, 12:30
Hi all,

I have recently picked up my Golf mk6 GT DSG 1.4 TSI (turb and supercharged) and love her, just had her APR remapped to 210bhp  :nerd:

However I have a few questions (sorry if they are obvious)

1, I have a iphone5 and that strange vw bluetooth unit that mounts on the dash (http://gaycarboys.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/vw-polo-bluetooth-unit_thumb.jpg?w=483&h=323)

I can connect fine but it when I sync my contacts it says "name field blank, please rename in phone" anyone know how to fix this?

2, My dsg gearbox judders getting into second sometimes, anyone heard of this?

3, whats the best way of getting dab as i currently have rn 510

Any help would be great, and im sure there will be many more questions!

For 1 looks like your iPhone has no name.  You need to call in something in Settings, General, About, Name.

This name will then come up on the Bluetooth thing...

Got the exact same car/model and I went through a stage where my DSG box was juddering too when shifting up to 2nd gear. It was an intermittent problem and has been back to the dealers on 3 occasions but they have never found out what the problem was. On the last occasion they 're-set the box' (whatever that means) and that was in April this year. So far to date I have not had a re-occurrence of the problem (fingers crossed).

Check out this link as there have been a whole host of people with a similar problem: http://www.vwwatercooled.com.au/forums/f112/golf-7-speed-dsg-shudder-clutch-issues-45873.html

Was the judder happening before the remap? Have heard some people saying that remaps can cause problems for the 7-speed DSG boxes but that has yet to be proven 100% true...

There's no VW DAB add on for the RNS510 so have a look at something like the Autodab/mediadab.  Nicely integrates (station names on RNS display), but sound is through aerial.

Hi,
Got it sorted, it was the 'mechatronic' unit in the gearbox! Droves like new now!!

That looks like the package that VW do. Bluetooth Touch Phone Kit (http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/owners/accessories/technology/000051473C/bluetooth-touch-phone-kit?mark=golf-2009&previousCategory=technology)

Hopefully you won't get the dreaded misfire issue on that engine.
I had it on my my GT

Or the engine goes pop due to 1.4 pushing out 200BHP
