Title: Unstable floaty feeling after 60mph
Post by: AD1.8T on 09 December 2012, 18:56
This has only started to happen since fitting my weitecs tt bushes ect but if on a duel carrage way where the roads aren't that good the car feels very very unstable almost as if theres no weight over the front end !

Obviously this gives me no confidence at all driving the car sometimes does anybody have any ideas what it could be?

Also i find the tt bush / weitec combo seems very harsh with next to no give on the slightest of bumps compared to my mates bora with similer quality coilovers and new standard wishbone bushes.... I think its the tt bushes but has anyone else experienced this before i splash the cash and buy new complete wishbones ? Any ideas on price for 2 new genuines from vw/tps ?

Have you had the tracking/alignment checked since fitting the bushes and coilovers?

If you haven't I would suggest starting there

check all your bolts are tight i had the exact same issue. the 18mm bolt that goes into the bottom arm came loose and was hanging out. at speed the car would wonder across the road like you woudnt belive! haha so glad i checked it and didnt keep driving it

your got it too stiff ,i did it on my old car i was driving down the motorway and the front somehow lifted up on a flat road and i turned left i dont know why but nothing happened next thing i know im in the next lane, thank god a car wasnt next to me. Never lower your car or make it stiff it slows you down on these crappy roads .
