I'd get your timing checked asap!
i also seem to recall blocked pickup pipe/oil pump problems bringing this fault code up, not enough pressure to pump up the hydraulic cam adjuster.

ive booked it in for a cambelt monday at my vw dealer , the EML light is also still on so they going too look at that aswell ! ill let you know the outcome as soon as its done !
-
had the cambelt and tensioner done today the fault code apparentlly was low fuel related ??? i dont really believe that , it says on the invoice fault code erased and to be monitored by driver ! i think the fitter has just deleted it
-
And the light is now back on ! Not good
-
if they're saying the fault code was fuel related your P-code might be misleading. can you get the vag specific fault code from it now that the light is back on?
-
right here goes ive just re scanned it mate ,
00017 BANK 1 CAMSHAFT A (INTAKE) : RETARD SETPOINT NOT REACHED (OVER-ADVANCED) P0011 NO SIGNAL COMMUNICATION INTERMITTENT
thats what im getting all the time
-
any ideas anyone? ive just changed the camshaft adjustment valve incase it was that ! cleared the code and it came back on
only thing now is the fuel pumo relay but honestly cant see that
-
I've got the same code on mine coming up so any help would be great. I'm taking mine to garage to get checked so will let you know if I have any joy
I was think tho could it not just be a fact of replacing the sensor?
-
any luck bud ?

Sorry pal I thought that was the code but it was p0010 which was the camshaft actuator. Just needed a new sensor
