Has anybody here changed their Hotmail account to Outlook as MSN seem to expect us to do?
Not done mine yet and was wondering if I should.
-
Done it with my Hotmail accounts since release, quite like it and I've got used to it so much that I can't remember what it was like before
-
It's MUCH better. Do it.
-
OK Boss! :afro:
-
I'm sure I saw something to click on last night that allows you to switch back to Hotmail so worst case scenario you could switch it back over.
-
Does it retain all my Folders and contacts?
-
Yes, it's just a new look & new @outlook.com address if you want. IMO, it's the best thing to have happened to Hotmail ever. A nice clean & quick interface.
-
Ah see I wouldnt want to change email address!
So there is an option to keep it @hotmail?
-
Email doesn't change, you can sign up for a new @outlook.com Email of course if you wanted though
-
Thanks for info guys.
-
Changed to outlook and I think it's much much better now

Best thing to do is always remember to create new folders on hotmail and not outlook otherwise new install of outlook might loose your folders on local machine! Trust me I've done it before, but the IMAP from hotmail to outlook is quick and make sure you can tweak deleted emails from outlook in sync with hotmail otherwise your hotmail could get fully quite quick if not deleted from hotmail aswell!
A friend ask me to do this to yahoo to outlook sadly its the one free account you can't connect to outlook
-
So from that do I deduce that they both run concurrently?
One does not replace the other?
If so I dont see the point!

Len's on about the Outlook.com website, which was Hotmail, not the program Outlook

Hotmail is becoming outlook.com, you can use your hotmail address with the outlook website, the point is that hotmail's website is utter crap and the Outlook site is muchos better.

 okay I'll shut up, didn't know hotmail has a new outlook on life :lipsrsealed:
-
Yea, I know all about Outlook as I use it at work!
The email I recieved about it doesnt seem to give an option to keep Hotmail address.
