Title: looking at upgrades
Post by: NERF 69 on 06 December 2012, 14:26
Now that my second toy car is out the window im looking at upping the power on my bora. Its a 110 at the minute but im wanting around 200bhp and 300lbft torque. Is this possible without going mad? I think id be happy with 170bhp and 250lbft torque to be honest but like anyone i wouldn't say no to more. Any suggestions to what i could do to achieve these sort of figures? Oh and by the way i have fitted a boost gauge which i know gives a good 30%power and improves wind resistance so bear that in mind please.

Has anyone tried upgrading a 110?

ive played with mine. its an asv non pd110. ive put a pd130 turbo on (but now wish id put the pd150 unit on) i redid all the boost hoses from 57mm silicone elbows and couplers, some alloy pipe and a 1.8t pancake pipe, uprated turborevs side mount intercooler, miltek large bore down pipe and decat, .216 injector nozzles and a remap from blacksmoke. i dont have any idea what power it runs, the map quotes 137hp. once it can put the power down it keeps up with things like the high powered mazda rx8, focus st170's and mondeo st24's. hope that helps

Wow! Really?? I was looking at the downpipe, decat, cone filter (a mates offered me a sealed k&n Apollo) a remap and possibly the 130/150 turbo Swap. Im not fussed about injectors really unless the standard ones were pushing there limits

does the 130/150 turbo fit straight on or do i have to modify?

the turbo bolts straight on. youll want the red turbo pipe that goes from the turbo to the pancake pipe. then using a silicone coupler to join the red pipe to the pancake pipe. with the air filter stick with the standard one  or use a performance panel filter as theyre better apparently

Dan, I am thinking about popping a hybris on my ASV. Did you feel a performance improvement when you put the turbo on your car?

That sounds expensive... :lipsrsealed:

Nerf - If you are after those figures you quoted easy then get a 130/150 and get a bog standard remap. A lot less hassle and maybe cheaper  :undecided:

I dont know if it helps but I got 136.7 out of my 110 non-pd after sticking a £99 eBay remap (not a resistor or any of that tosh).

Future plans are PD150 Turbo, .216 injectors and a proper remap. Cat is long gone...
