In a nutshell i have a 2.0 gti 8v on a P plate and have the following issue:
Car has central locking, the key i got with the car does not operate the boot, the passenger side has a polo door handle (will fit one to drivers when remote central locking installed) so has no lock and this morning the drivers door lock does not seem to work.
When i put the key in and turn the noise of the central locking works but the pin on the drivers door does not go up (neither does passenger side) and just tries to go up then goes doen again. I have no way of getting access to my car and am need to get into it.
Is there a simple way to break in...obviously i dont expect you guys to just put it on here so please pm me.
Thanks in advance and what do you guys think is the matter...? Goggling it seems to be a popular query.

I had the same problem this morning. I was frozen out however, totally frosted up locks that wouldnt budge. Thankfully for me the passenger key would turn so i tried that. I spotted the rear passenger door was the only door pin moving then shutting again as the other locks were failing. So i timed the key turn with the rear passenger door right and got in the back. Then it was a simple matter of piling everyone in the back way and blasting heaters on full for the school run. By the time we got there hey presto all the mechanisms had freed up and my mk3 golf 1 door had 5 again

try hold key in the open position this will open windows then u might open door from inside ,sounds like a central locking module is knackered which is in the boot passenger side ....

The key wont turn to the open position as it just turns back to the lock position...also when turning the key the central locking motor engages and stays on as long as I hold the key in the open position I am worried about holding it there invade it burns out.
Any more ideas...?
Thanks
