Title: Power steering issue
Post by: maxmc2 on 05 December 2012, 21:10
Evening guys

Power steering issue, when I steer to the left the steering is light and when I steer to the right it's noticable heavier.

I've checked the fluid and all is fine there.

When I got the vehicle the guy had removed the air con unit as this had siezed up.

Good that be related to my steering issue?

TIA

Well one would have to assume he fitted a new belt as by removing the aircon compressor you have to fit a shorter belt.
So cant be that!
Might be top mounts or any of the steering components.

Is the car lowered?
Have you had tracking/alignment checked?

Well thats what i thought re: the belt ill have to check that, i know the difference in belt size is 70mm.

Yes car is lowered and no haven't had the tracking or alignment checked yet.
