I no this might be a long shot but here goes anyway right I no it's not a golf but its going my head in. My mrs has a 51 plate Renault Clio 1.2 16v and the heating has stopped coming out hot all the vans work but no hot air I've checked the heater matrix and that's not blocked some one told me it could be an air lock but tryed bleeding it and still no heat. Please can some one give me some advice coz she keeps moaning at me and now the snow is here its going to get worse and she is going to try and use my golf and that ante happening lol. Thanx in advance Ian

Thermostat sounds like it could be stuck.

Changed that already mate

probably an air lock, renaults that i've touched before have bleed valves in various pipes for just such a thing. make sure control is on hot, then run car (from cold) with cap off and bleed...... massage pipes etc.
do the cabin pipes get hot?

Tryed bleeding it mate still nuffin and the pipes that go in to the car are both hot. But now some thing else is happening if your on a dual carage way as soon as you go over 60mph the temperature needle goes right to the top and then straight back down to the half and the stop and engine lights come on then go out. Need to get it booked in to a garage but wanted a heads up wot could be causing it rather than getting ripped off for some thing I could maybe do my self

Odd one, I'd still say air lock. Could many things: thermostat (correct one fitted?), airlock (still), temp sensor, heat exhanger to the cabin? Best chuck it into a garage :-)
