Hi, anyone know the core dimensions for the THS twin pass fmic? (mk4 Golf 1.8t)
I'm looking into making a replica (rip-off) system for £200, just seeing if i can get the right core size, can sort piping for £65. If it goes ahead I will obviously post a how to and parts list but am well busy over the next 4 weeks so bare with me....

if you're making your own system then don't bother with an inefficient twin pass core!
get a toyosports type B core and make up your own pipework, I did a guide in the FAQ section.
not knocking the THS at all, it's good, to a point, but the large toyo core and 2.5'' pipework throughout is without question a better system, and comes in around the same price too

Cheers man, I'll have a look!
The reason I was looking at twin pass was cus im not looking at massive power (230-240 hopefully) and Im not a massive fan of taking the turbo outlet across the engine bay (I like a more stealthy look).
How are they inefficient though? (not in a sarcy way, genuinely interested to know). Is it purely due to the pressure drop created by the turbulant air flow - due to bad core design and/or the 180 degree change in flow direction?

mainly in terms of flow and pressure drop, plus the ends tanks are rarely completely seperate at the inlet end, so you get one side of the tank really hot, and the heat radiates across the tank onto the outlet and heats that up too.
Pipes on the near side CAN be made to look stealthy, by going 90 degrees left straight off the turbo, then 90 degrees forward and comming through below the rad hoses just above the box....

Ah right, looks like single pass ftw then!
From memory on the cold side of you're set up is it possible to swap the 3 90 degree bends for a 45 degree off the intercooler and then 135 degree alloy bend to the TB silicone pipe?

Could always do what I did:-

S3 inlet with K04 charge pipe and went under the battery box, still a work in progress on the K04 charge pipe side lol
