Hi Guys,
Got a EMS light up again...dont take long does it
Pressure low between throttle and turbo check D.V!!
Its amazing how those jubilee clips can move into a position where they groove holes
in every rubber pipe under your bonnet
Anyway couldn't find any visible holes but found the two union connectors fitted to my
catch can were lose.
Would this cause the low pressure fault or do i need to check abit more indepth.
Thanks.

fault 17705 ?
its usually caused because the bottom turbo to charge pipe wears it has a clip that holds it in place that wears into the alloy joint the pipe looks like this

this is what happens under load it comes apart

you can eather replace the pipe was about £52 last time i bought one or replace the charge pipe from one off and agu engine code as they use jubalee clips and are much better than the later clip type
-
this is an agu charge pipe its the bottom pipe the later aum / auq engines have the alloy clip shown above but the agu has jubalee clips , best getting it in axel stands and its at the back of the engine ive fixed this fault a few times now

Sorry to jump in here but I keep getting this myself from time to time. I will check that pipe when i can.
If i was to change the pipes/clips can i ask is it an easy job and how isit done?
-
It's pritty easy tbh mate if you replace the pipe with a new part you just remove one an fit the other straight forward really the hardest part is going from under the car as its at the rear of the engine and your working lay on your back lol
-
I see, seems simple enough, and if i wasnt to go to VW and buy a new one could i source a 2nd hand one from somwhere other than a scrap yard?
-
ahh, yes had this pipe connection pop out before when i changed my bosch Maf and caused fault
issues.
Will pop it back in when it stops raining and see after fault delete:smiley:
Thanks for the info and pics.

10mm ring/ratchet spanner to get to the brackets that hold it on is the only fiddily bit
Made a massive difference when I replaced mine with it
