Tried to do the joey mod on my headlights today, first try ended up with the headlight exploding after just gently trying to pry it apart after heating them. Really was a surprise as I was expecting the lenses to be plastic instead of glass! So my question is, do any of you guys know where I can get a set of these already done that don't have angel eyes or devil eyes, day time running lights or any other additional lighting?

Use headlight film mate looks better than the joey mod!!!

Went on quite well, not as forgiving as the carbon film but it will do for now, there are a couple of small bubbles but I'm not too worried about them ATM... Just want my car back on the road sooo badly!!!!

Sorry HIDs are a ducking pain in the ass neds use them on corsas nuff said!!! Light tint film doesn't affect beam at all I'm sure with gay HIDs it will make them a little less bright dont go for dark tint as I read some people have failed a mot with it but light tint is fine

If Dom is going to hell then I am too. Running with no cat on my derv. I recycle and save enough water/electricity etc in my day to day life. The world is f**ked anyhow...The way it ploughs through it resources almost un necessarily...But that is a different thread.

The difference is HID's in standard headlights are dangerous and could be directly responsible for an accident causing injury or worse.

and the emissions from a decat are causing globel warming(floods/draughts) killing thousands. who's bothered. all i was saying is people run HIDs like people run decats, both are non road legal at the end of the day.

That film looks spot on a lad I know used window tint film which also worked pretty well.I also have a de-cat and a HID kit which I had fitted to my 2 previous Golfs, never have I had any on coming drivers flash me due to my head lights I find newer cars like Range rovers,Mercs and Audis headlights pretty blinding..

I don't know what happened! I heated them evenly with a heat gun, as soon as I gave it a little tweak with a screwdriver it just exploded! Managed to do another set of lights with no problems so I'm guessing I was unlucky and had an imperfection in the glass, like a bubble or something.
