ok so were to start.
vw golf mk4 1.8 turbo AUQ, 180 bhp, 6 speed gear box.
the car had 72k on the clock and full service history and i bought it for £3200.

mods so far:
lowered on v-maxx coilovers
creation motorsport silicone boost pipes (5 piece)
creation motorsport silicone TIP
forge 007p re-circ valve
oil catch can set up
blackened roof lining, pillars, grab handles, interior lights and sun visors etc
center arm rest
illuminated bora vents
boost guage
shark fin arial (sort of)
FK automotive r32 front bumper (waiting to paint)
audi tt mk4 quattro 18" alloys 8j front 8.5j rear in purple..... yes that right purple
headlights tinted
rear lights tinted

i bought the car in May 2012 and the story behind it is a bit of a  one, i started to really come attached to the mk4 platform about 3-4 years ago but i did not want to get a 1.4/1.6 as i wanted the gti but time and money strains it was not possible at the time. then off i went to afghan and from time to time i would go out of my sh@t hole CP to get a replen from the main PB near me and i would use the internet :) it took me 7 months to find the perfect one and this is what i got, so i had 2 weeks left on tour and i phoned the fella up and asked if he could hold it for me. on my last day in afghan i had 2-3 hours sleep at best and straight on the plane out of there to cyprus for the cool down from tour, one night in cyprus pissed on 2 cans of stella and another 2-3 hours sleep then over to germany to drop some lads off, then to brize norton RAF camp, from there stayed in the lounge had no sleep, then to heathrow, from there to northern ireland in camp about an hour tops then straight to the airport again for a long weekend, so i flew through to stanstead airport then caught a coach from there to colcester, picked up the car after a good 3 hours talking/checking it over. then off i went to go all the way up to doncaster, had a pitstop off at tesco for a tom-tom and 5 cans of monster, got home for around 2-3 oclock in the morning.... so i reckon i must of had 8-9 hours sleep in 4 days but by god the best 3-4 hour test drive of my life

And that is the story of how i cam across my beloved

after i got home the next day after sleeping 20hours or so maybe more all i know is that i think i pissed and sh@t the bed i was there that long lol
i decided to give the car a good clean and detailed it, after 7-8 hours hard graft this is what she looked like

ok so the first thing i did was lower the car on some v-maxx coilovers well at the front any way as i found out that its spring and damper separate at the rear :(
(http://i1057.photobucket.com/albums/t395/rfn_hodgson/IMG_0063.jpg)

after the were fitted it was a case of driving round getting the dampers broken in, i got half a mile down the road and this almighty grinding noise (ARB on drive shaft :( ) so i took it back and i could not see the top of my tires lol but then it got all sorted and this is how low i dare go at the moment
(http://i1057.photobucket.com/albums/t395/rfn_hodgson/null-12.jpg)

i then got the car remapped at topgear performance in doncaster... its ok but not the best map  :undecided:

next i was on the look out for bits and bobs then a saw DazVeeDub was selling a few engine mods so i went up to see him and i bought silicone boost pipes, oil catch can install, forge 007p, and a strut brace :)
here is what it looks like after hours of knuckle rash brews and cigarettes lol
(http://i1057.photobucket.com/albums/t395/rfn_hodgson/IMG_0094.jpg)

i was on a roll until i i looked in the rear view mirror and seen a great cloud of white smoke.. :( turned out that i needed set up the oil catch can a little different to the oil catch can guide :)

i was looking all over ebay trying to find a good deal on the bora vents and they were all around the region of £60-80 for a decent set. so i went to the scrap yard near me and i got them for £10 :D :) as you could guess i walked out of there sharpish with a big grin on my face lol
and here they are all fitted
(http://i1057.photobucket.com/albums/t395/rfn_hodgson/null-1.jpg)

oh yea and i fitted a boost gauge  as seen in the last picture :)

so from this
(http://i1057.photobucket.com/albums/t395/rfn_hodgson/IMG_0094.jpg)

to this :)

and this weekend ive been out to the local paint supply shop and decide to do my rear valance to the same colour of my car.............
problem is is that i live in a single man room in a block of about 100 squaddies lol so places to do paint jobs are limited so i did it in my room
obviously not done yet but the look on one of my bosses when he seen me doing it in my room, Priceless haha

Oki so I got the debadged grill and I sorted most of the bubbling in the head light film and also sorted out that dreadful silver mesh in the bumper

Sorry the car isn't too clean :(

Also here is an all over picture so far :)

I also got her services other week and when I traveled from catterick to Rotherham then Doncaster so what's that 80-90 mile and yes I was driving like a granny but it pays off, and yes I know you should not go by the dash but by god I was impressed with my self lol

Hello after putting gurtrude up for sale and buy the gttdi nothing has been happening with her as I was going to spend some cash on the diesel but turns out those diesel are not a durable as the petrols :) long story short the cambelt tensioner snapped off and the engine was a dud :( lucky enough gurtrude did not sell and I just jumped straight back into her as a temporary car..... But I fell in love with her all over again and now we are back in action :D

So.... After being back in the petrol a few months she has had
CAT back scorpion resonated stainless steal exhaust
New drivers door
Alloys have been refurbished
I have done the carbon canister delete
N249 bypass.... Then delete along with
SAI delete- what a t#$t that was to do by the way!!
And the rest of the PVC system has gone
Oil catch can has been moved again :) but with piping that does NOT stain after a while
Updated 007p piston....

And that's is I think :)

So here is most of the stuff I removed today :)

And here is how the engine bay looks now :)

And here is where the catch can sits now
(http://i1057.photobucket.com/albums/t395/rfn_hodgson/null_zps7d3b38e5.jpg)

And this is how she stands now :) with now r32 front bumper may I add :(
(http://i1057.photobucket.com/albums/t395/rfn_hodgson/null_zpsfbf106b2.jpg)

Hope you can all appreciate why I got the diesel but most importantly I'm back in the true GTI :)
