So ive got a 97 8v AGG should i bother paying £35+ for a K&N or £7 for the standard replacement? Will it make any difference?
-
I get standard filter mate.
-
Ive always used K&N panel filters on the cars ive kept for decent amount of time for peace of mind and longevity but standard paper filters are fine as long as they're changed regularly.
-
How regularly? I only really use the car at weekends and probably wont even do 5000 miles a year?
-
For the cost of a basic filter I would change it once a year personally.
-
Once a year will suffice then for the sake of £7.
-
They're louder too if you drill your air box.
I have two, one sealed and the other drilled using 80mm hole saw
-
The K&N I have in my 8v is about 6 years old, I have an ABF one, a Digi 8v and KR one on my shelf in the workshop
Its only a performance aid if you polish, port, de hump and dremmel your intake from box to butterfly.
If your like me then it will pay for its self eventually and is more durable

Used the midmonth31 code at eurocarparts and got a standard air filter, pollen filter, ht leads and dissy cap all for £30! Nice

All the above for less than a k&N filter which would make no difference to your performance. Bargain!

Exactly! Now i just have to figure out how to change them all
-
They're all simple as, can give you a hand if you need it though.

Well everything should just be clips if im not mistaken? Not a socket or spanner in site. Ill probably do it with the old man when it all arrives. Cheers tho
