Title: New CW Edition 35 with pics
Post by: Edi35 on 03 December 2012, 09:02
On Saturday I picked up my new Edition 35.
Spec
Candy White
5Dr
DSG
19' Glendale
RCD510
DAB
Dynaudio sound pack
Parking Sensors F&R
Storage pack
Service plan
Life shine

I had no intention to change my 9 month old CG ED35 but my dealer offered me a deal I would be stupid to turn down. The car was in stock but it had a spec which suited me so I am very pleased with it.

Here are a couple of pics of when I picked it up. I will post a few more when the weather improves.

what was the cost to change if you dont mind me asking?

the dealer phoned me asking if i wanted to trade in my GTI for an ed35 (in stock with 2k off list price). i decided not to pursue it as the mk7 is too near launch.

Looking good that

My dealer has a new manual 3 door in white at the moment with the Glendales, no other extras.
If it had been DSG I might have been tempted.

Very nice indeed.

As much as I love my new bimmer I do really miss my gti. I thinks its more the look of the car.

Cost to change was zero.

I lease my cars (as i get a monthly car allowance) and due to the current offers e.g 2k dealer contribution and a reduced interest rate my monthly payments have gone down.

Good point ref Mk7 but as I had decided that I would probably keep my ED35 for at least another 2 years it made sense for me. I had done 13k miles in my CG ED35 which would have needed new tyres in 4-6 months time so this has also delayed that cost too.

For my circumstances it just suited me.

Wise decision there - new car for less money - I had a very similar opportunity recently and nearly jumped into it but couldn't quite get the spec I wanted

i assumed it must have been a lease deal

makes alot of sense to change in your case. especially as your old car had a few miles on etc.

i pay my cars off early so to change at that sort of time would be eye watering in depreciation.

2 years time your new car will be due a change and ready for a mk7 just in time for all the teething problems to be ironed out! good timing

Thanks for the positive comments about the car and deal. Ginge if I could have a three door I would, but having two teenage boys in the back every day it is not an option. When I had the MK4 I had a three door when my boys were young but they nearly wrecked the folding seats getting in and out

Any way I am really loving the car and already feel happier in this than my CG ED35 as its a better deal.
