I was curious to see how long people on here spend compiling their build threads or updating and replying. I have on several occassions began to compile my build thread only to stop as soon as I am greeted by a disorienting mess of pictures upon opening my picture folder
I envy those with the patience to sit down and produce a build thread but I suppose I have only myself to blame for not having made one from the start.

Interesting question. I know I probably spend 1hr + a week reading build threads!

so how do you go about building one??
-
You buy a car and start making changes.
As you make the changes you take photos and then every time you make a change, you update the build thread.
Doesn't take long each time and helps you understand what you've done and sometimes why you've done it.
Saving it up doesn't make any sense!

sorry i should have been more precise, how do i get the build thread into the mk4 dub projects?
i take it that i start a thread in the mk4 section stating that it is a build thread and then one of the moderators move it over??
-
No, you PM JV or another adult (such as Chuff) and they start the thread. You then add to it.

i fail at build threads miserably. 1st step is to buy a digi cam that works
-
Not added to mine for a long time!
I really should move the stuff from Dub Rides to the Project thread but cant be arsed, though I guess one of them should be the complete record of all I have done.

My build thread is made easy by the use of my iPhone! I've got photobucket as an App, and my build thread saved as a direct mail link on my phone
With regards to how long... I'd probably say in the region of 15-20 minutes, as I like to incorporate lots of pics, as its all well and good writing what you have done, but people want to see pictures of it, as it can help them with inspiration on their own dub!
Also, it's always nice to look back at the first post to see the contrast between the car then and now!

You should have my Pentax off me when you're down here next - it's waterproof and built like a small rock - nothing extends outwards on it!
TBH I just use the Dub Rides thread as my build thread.

Hmm yeah I may consider doing one at some point...but then again i doubt it considering i've been posting on here over 4 years and reading it even longer.
