Title: Home servicing tips
Post by: Bobby Valentino on 30 November 2012, 13:33
Hello everyone,

Got my Golf a few weeks back, its has had a full service 3k ago but I was wondering if anyone had any tips on extra things I can do, like cleaning EGR Valve, does someone have a How To?
Anything else worth doing?
My enigine moves a bit excessively when cold and looked down at my alternator belt moves around alot due to engine movement. I realise I may need a new mount but read that there might be things worth cleaning anyway to improve things.

No cleaning will help your engine move less. Probably a worn engine mount, most likely the lower, dobbone, mount...easily and cheaply replaced.

Defo clean your EGR valve...Look in the mk4 how to diesel section, loads of helpful guides in there
