i sorte know about the stud spacing but pcb?
do you just mesure with a ruler or is there a web page that just tells me what fits?
and if i upgrade to 17" will there be a big problem, its on 15" and never been lowerd but surley the speedo will be inacurate, will the M.O.T guys be able to tell? going over low kerbs and speed humps will be ok eh?

Fitment on the MKV Golf is 5 x (PCD)112mm

Stock ET (offset) is ET51 on a 7" wide wheel

If you upgrade to a 17" wheel from a 15" wheel you will need to reduce the sidewall depth to keep the diameter of the tyre the same.

Stock tyres for a 17x7 wheel are 225/45/17 usually a Y rated tyre for the GTI with an XL load rating (extra load)

Speed humps and kerbs will be fine as most 17" tyres have sidewall protection. I had 19" wheels on my MKV Golf and these were ok too. The MOT guys will only be concerned with the wheels and tyres being in good condition with legal tread depth.

Can you link me in some decent 19's Hurdy? I'm thinking I might fancy a change sometime next year and don't really want to lower the car, so the bigger wheels would look better, by filling the arch a bit more.

Thanks buddy.

I had black edition BBS CH's with the stainless rim protector........not cheap! 8" x 19" ET48 with 235/35/19 tyres.

unfortunatly it doesnt work like that mate it ll still need lowering even if you put 19" s on , all it does is make the car look too high if you running stock suspension .
