Title: my drivers window just broke

ok so its -4 degrees i pull down my window for a fag and all of a sudden it drops in the door and smashes!! nice!! 30 minute drive home freezin hell now what??? wer can i get that sorted a.s.a.p in the midlands???????! any ideas and how much?? what wud vw charge?

The same thing happend to me the first day i bought my mk4, the regulator cable broke and my window wudnt go back up.. regulator repair kits on ebay are about 10-15 quid but there is a vw breaker here in nottingham(east midlands) who you may be able to get the lot off:

It's because your window was frozen to the rubber. If you can get another bit of glass from the breakers it's easy enough to do, if you've got the plastic regulator clips you'll need to do them at the same time as Ralphy says

yer the window was froze i pressed down clips snapped then it was bye bye window i didnt catch it fast enoigh :(

U must have a local scrapies and mk4 common Car so sure they will have window lying around for a Tenna

i think this should be revised to "...and ANY Standard Mk4 is a common car..."  :angry:  :laugh:

brucey bonus just took the door card off and pulled the window up its not smashed!!!! it sounded like it did to me was some right funky noises sounded grinding glass to me.. anywho midland vw are doin it for me in cannock for £100 same day fix aswell and bein as an emergency i aint complaining i think thats quality service disnt ring em till 10 and now there doin it many thanx to midland vw for draggin me out the poop :))
