I just started driving my golf Mk3 everyday since Monday, and man am I in love with it!
In love with it and now worried because I don`t ever want to drive anything else,my worry is how long are original VW golf Mk3 parts going to be around for?
If I want to keep this car for my lifetime, should I be stocking up on Parts?
Anyone?

the amount of mk3s on the road, you have a long time before having to worryabout parts
especially the amount that people strip theres going to be parts round for years to come :)
-
How many were sold then? :undecided:
-
According to Wikipedia,4.8 million.

Is that a large number? somehow I cant comprehend it....
Ok its a large number but its been a long time not only that how many of the 4.8 mil oweners are greese monkeys and appreciate what they have, the number will go down dramatically....
Only VW have the true numbers in there computers and its not fair!
-
Doesn't seem a large number seeing as they have produced 29 million Golfs (all models) up until 2012.But as Kempie said,i don't think you will need to worry about getting parts for quite a few years yet. :smug:

What your saying is reassuring, but I am going to stock up on parts anyway,If I`m not certain then I make certain, that`s just the way I am
-
Put it this way, i seriously wouldn't worry about it.
-
If you want the odd few new OEM VW Parts then yeah it might be a good idea to stock up, as they will become obsolete one day. Although i'm sure it will be a few years yet.

It's the Mk2 parts you want to worry about. They can get rid the Mk3 8v, i don't mind!
-
"never want to drive anything else!"
Dont get me wrong I love my mk3 but not sure I'd go that far
it is an addiction tho, and this forum will become your 'help group'. THe only place where people will understand why you can't afford to buy food cos you spent your last cash on some different tail lights
