very good. seems pretty simple adding a chassis notch lol. i take it you wont be using the car in the mean time?

What's this for?? :embarrassed:

What's this for?? :embarrassed:
+1
-
It's clearance for the arb on the chassis so when he dumps all the air out the bags it will sit on the sills and not the arb
-
Ahhh it all makes sense now!!!
-
Almost Steve. It to stop the drivers drive shaft hitting the rail. No way should you drive the car like that. The plate need welded in and painted.
-
Ive never liked the look of this
Surely if you have a front end crash thats just going to fold.. even with the pipe in place.
-
Whoops I meant driveshaft not arb..

All the boys on air do this.
Plush done a mates brand new scirocco whilst installing air, They did warn him that insurance may class it as a write off to cover their own back's :lipsrsealed:
I wouldnt personally do it, but if it's a show car not running silly power used on the road daily then each to their own, Plenty of boys running the mk4 platform do this but iv yet come across a smashed up one after a notch so unable to comment on the weakening of the chassis.
Looks good though mate, once welded and undersealed its unlikely anyone will know it was done.

Is it legal? I was under the impression that any mods to chassis or bulk head and the car needed to have
a SVA test?
Same goes for those who fit roll cages that go through the bulk head and connect to the turrets?

i think generally what they dont know dont hurt em or something like that. it would weaken the chassis, but to be fair a lot of the time if a show car does get crashed it generally gets broken for bits anyway
