That's a lot to spend to not be satisfied
The eBay 3" one is pretty loud on full boost.

let me know if you want to sell your catback
-
milltek are nothing but overpriced tat.
-
but the life time warranty is a good buy
-
Why do you want the exhaust to be loud? Are you wishing to be anti social and piss off your neighbours?
If you want something that sounds nice, then BBC R2 is what I recommend, an exhaust is for the exhaustion of engine waste gasses and that only.
-
miltek gives it that nice race car purr, admittedly the 3" system does sound beefy but i'd prefer to be noticed and not sectioned :lipsrsealed:

I had a lifetime warranty on my exhaust which was £50 cheaper than a Milltek and that was FITTED
Also you may find that the warranty is only applicable to you and once you sell the car it may not follow the new owner

very true this, but atleast you know that if it does go wrong when YOU have the car then it'll be sorted :lipsrsealed:
-
Fook thats what i did not want to read .. Once passed on new owner warranty is void
Iv got miltek resonated on my 4mo wanted swap the box for non resonated for little extra sound. Dont want nothing stupidly loud .. May have to go down custom route then
-
going to change the backbox as its massive and i think thats what makes it quiet  ps; fell out with neighbours years back so all up for p*ssing them off
-
I've a full Milltek Non Res system and it's quite noisy on full chat, and just right when you're not driving like a tinker, it's a noise I definitely welcome though. I have it two years and it still puts a smile on my face every time I plant the loud pedal. My journey to and from work everyday involves a 3 mile tunnel
Maybe give it a while and see if it changes?
-
may do that as i don't really want a mix match exhaust thanks

and take your resonator out! :lipsrsealed:
-
how do i do that its just a straight pipe off the turbo with a backbox
-
ok, so you have a sports downpipe with the 200cat? and the exhaust from the cat to the back box is a straight through? theres no cylinder between your back box and cat? :undecided:
-
has no cat straight pipe from turbo to backbox
-
... should be loud enough...have you checked your hearing? :lipsrsealed:
-
seriously its not no pops or anything. i cut all silencers and cats out and fittied a cheap backbox to the original system and it was stupidly loud but dint look the best so i bought the milltek think i might just chuck it on ebay and go back to homemade system
-
if you want pikey loud go buy a saxo
if it performs and flows well, and it's quiet, surely thats a bonus?
My 3'' turbo back system is very quiet, and flows incredibly well. I consider this a result!
-
I enjoy the occasional pop pop bang bang
-
i wouldnt be seen dead in a french car especially a saxo ps; pikeys drive transit vans

God your patronising! If he wants a loud exhaust, let him have one!

:lipsrsealed: if you want loud then its a 3"turbo back, if you wanted head turner its the miltek, your own taste at the end of the day TBF

I'd have to agree with this. Some of the other systems I've heard on 1.8T are far too harsh sounding, personally I think the Milltek is just right. Well worth the money IMO.

+1

I had a custom made 3" full system including a decat. That wasnt too loud at all, sounded nice.
Alot better than my mates miltek on his 1.8t.
Mine popped and banged more too
Charlie who owns pro-speed in Cardiff made it, awsome guy and awsome work this is his website for those intrested.

This has been my issue. As my first mod will be a turbo back. Now ive come from a mega tuned primera with an 108db exhaust far too loud for a daily. Miltek on you tube seem to vary. Some are just right and sound really powerful but no or little crackling from them. The 3"s crackle and pop but "may" be too loud im just so unsure
-
i had a red premiera 2l sport...landed up as part of the window decoration of Iceland, between frozen and savory :lipsrsealed:
-
Primera's only look good in the scrap yard

Crushed
-
Saying that theres plenty of mk4's down my oldman's yard too
I still like them though
-
Lol every club hates every other car lol. This primera aint normal had 3k spent on it. Out runs accord type rs on track. Faultless reliability and handling. 4 years without issue ragged to death i may add but thanks to chain driven no issue.
-
I disagree about the ebay 3'' being loud.
my 3'' ebay turbo back, with 350+bhp pushing through it, is no louder than my miltek non res turbo back system was with just 220bhp being forced through it.....
-
to be fair the 3'' is just such a good deal. the decat is worth £90 on its own. so i think ill defo be going 3'' when i get my gti
-
When i had my 3" system I was VERY surprised. I would recomend buying a 3" all day.

got any black grill laying around by any chance?
-
I will have a look pal. Wont promise anything though most mk4's are right off's
Unless they crappy 1.4's, 1.6's or 2.0's with head gasket or gearbox problems etc hahaa

lol cheers bud, im doing the black grill and tinted headlight thing when i get my R32 rep done and mines got a MAHOOOSIVE chip in it  so i cant respray that by itself
-
Had 3" dp with decat straight thru to back box and it wasn't loud at all, sounded slightly raspy but you would never have guessed it was back box only!!
-
I thought my Milltek turbo back (decat) was quiet until I let someone else drive the car while I stood at the side of the road. It's a lot louder outside the car than inside. Millteks just have a nice sporty non-droning tone to them. Love mine
