Can someone give me advice on my problem please? I started my car this morning and it was running lumpy on idle and under boost, engine management light was also flashing. I haven't got a clue what's up with it.

You will need to get VAG COM connected to diagnose the problem. Find a local garage that specialise in VW/Audi and get
them to run a diagnostic. Will prob cost around £50.
Hopefully this will identify the problem.

Thanks mate. Will take it down today then.

My first thought would be a faulty coil pack. Give VW a ring and ask them if your car is on the recall list for coil packs, they eill ask your reg, and tell u wether it needs looking at, if it is u will get your coil packs replaced for free and a free car wash....But dont let them wash your car, mention that u DO NOT want them to clean it.
-
Brilliant. Have just found out that it has been recalled and is booked in for wed. Why not let them wash it lmao
-
Brilliant news, basically they get a 14 year old kid to wash it with fairy liquid and 1 bucket, 1 sponge thats used on all cars, that picks up grit from the floor, washes your wheel with then they use it to wash your lovely paintwork.
Nar ive gone abit overboard there but they do a really bad job, leave streaks, etc and dont shammy afterwards, im sure someone will post there exp. althou on a good note they do a nice job on the inside and give u a free air freshner too :)
Let us know if it fixes the problem, im eager to know now lol

Haha think il leave the wash then lol. It's clean anyways. I'm gonna put my decat on tonight because someone told me its possible that the cat is gone. Will take that out of the equation if its still the same. Will still get my new coil pack regardless lol.
Sure will let you know how I get on. And thanks for your help :)

If it's got a post cat lambda sticking the decat on won't help, it will probably end up throwing an engine management light on
-
sorry to join the conversation but whats this recall thing ...?
-
Some gti's have a recall in the coil packs. It's worth ringing vw to see if you motor is on the list mate.

cheers buddy ill give it a go !

Found out mines got a recall, was over a year ago but I don't want to replace my bolt down ones with just the 'push down' type :smug:
If it ain't broke I ain't fixin it yet
