Anyone have one, have you had anything go wrong?........
I know they are cheap, but the pump should last longer than 2 years imo, currently without hot water and heating
-
Never 'eard of 'em.
Not much help, I know.
-
Do you have a hot water cylinder?
-
I could not afford a "proper" boiler but Biasi are supposed to be good low enders, gets what you pay for I suspose
No Gas Combi condenser, hence a cold flat on the edge of the Big Smoke
-
Dam!!
No idea what to sujuest! What's the manufactures garentee?

No idea what to suggest! What's the manufactures guarantee?
Its out of it that's what!
I know its the pump and I have a Biasi Engineer coming out on a £250 fix anything deal, but I just wondered if this will be the norm and on this basis take out some cover while I save for something decent or most likely move house and make it SEP
Boiling water for a shave as we speak

If you know it's the pump, whip a new one in and refill the heating circuit.

Pumps £120 + VAT and will get a years warranty if fitted by Biasi, + I've paid em to come out already :lipsrsealed:
It started making noise a last week so I called em in hoping to have it fixed before it failed........

Blaady 'ell. You could get one for half that. All heating pumps are made to the same size for domestic boilers, so it didn't have to be one of theirs.

Its expensive agreed, but Its not a std grundfos and I have to fly to Zurich during the week so cant fix it myself, paying for convenience is a b!tch.

i work for warrington and wigan councils as a spark . im in need of a new boiler so have been doing lots of homework as to which boiler to get . luckily i have about 20 plumbers nd heating engineers to pick the brains of . we fit bosch and vaillant which are big money ( to much for my budgt to be honest) i seen the biasi riva 24k on screw fix and in b and q . i asked several of our engineers and they said exactly what has happened to you . they said by all means they d fit one , but they d be back in 18 months 2 years to put a proper one in . you ve confirmed for me what they said . hope it gets sorted for you mate and you dont get any more problems .

Meh, this seems to be the going interweb diagnosis.
Looks like I have to get it fixed and save up, keeping the Mk3 for another year then
-
biasi and ferroli are the devil. fit one at your peril. worcester bosch are mid range and vaillant ecotec plus are top end.
Loads of engineers fit the rubbish ones so they get the breakdown work once it's out of warranty.
-
we only fit worcester bosch boilers on the basis we get a 7 year guarantee on them so it pays to spend a little bit more on the boiler. £120 + vat for a pump is a bit of a joke, we buy grundfoss pumps for £55 + vat!

get britishgas boiler cover mate about 11quid a month and all parts and labour included as well as yearly service. also you could have tried british gas one off repair, before i got cover they quoted me £114 to repair over the phone, it turned out to be a waterlogged pump, boiler was a worcester greenstar, so with callout, labour and part they had to stick to quoted price
-
Waterlogged pump?
-
Waterlogged pump?
must be one of those new waterless pumps

yep what had happened was we had very heavy rain lashing against the back wall off the house where the flue terminal was, now as the terminal is low down the water had run back down the flue and saturated the pump electrics and apparently burnt it out, hence waterlogged. it happened on a second occasion but this time had left a puddle underneath the gas valve and the wire to the valve was lying in the water causing a short. the problem of water has been solved by drilling some holes in the outer case of the flue where it meets the wall so allowing rain water to drain rather than run down flue.
does that explain waterlogged pump well enough for you guys now?

Right, so basically, there were an ingress of water onto the electrics causing a short, rather than this bullsh!t term of waterlogged pump.
-
Who drilled the holes in the flue?
-
Fixed.
Confirmed pump failure, new pump 5 mins to fit, £250 lighter
Now to have a bath, the first in 4 days
-
£250 for 5 mins!! I feel guilty when I do jobs like that! £102 to unblock a toilet! One plunge its gone!!
Weighting the invoice takes longer
-
pffft. you lot are too cheap
-
It's not going in my sky rocket! So I don't give 2
