Title: Whistling noise from offside engine bay??
Post by: Xtrhardcore on 24 November 2012, 16:36
Got this whistling coming from the cambelt side of the engine bay, up by all the pulleys etc. Not sure as to what it could be, any known problems or common faults?

GTi Naturally aspirated
1.8
Cheers :)

Now don't quote me on this, but.... My first thought suggests that it could be one of the pulley cogs?

Do you get 1.8 NA GTIs? Thought they were 2L?

Haha sounds about right to me lol!
Found out it was the cam timing cover rubbing on the cam belt!
All sorted :)
