Title: Wet 'C' Pillar....please help
Post by: evereddy on 24 November 2012, 16:25
Hi guys,

recently changed rear wiper motor etc on golf so know that everything is fine.  It has been raining loads recently and I notice that my rear, passenger side 'C' pillar is slowly getting wet (obvious from the staining).  I would say it is damp, rather than soking but still keen to get it sorted.  I recently sorted my sunroof drains so don't think that has anything to do with it either.  I also the rear washer line can leak sometimes but again I think its the wrong side and anyway it only happens when it rains!

Are there any obvious places I should be checking - around the boot, rear door, other roof seals etc?

I'm not so fussed about the staining its more of a pian in the morning when the car is steamed up etc, not to mention it smells like a whores armpit!

any help appreciated.

cheers

where the loom enters the car?
yeah this was what i was thinking Chris - wondered if rain was just seeping in.  it look pretty water tight to where the rubber gromit seals the hole on the main body....do you know if this is a fairly standard problem - thanks mate.

sunroof drains?
thanks GM8 - like i said i recently unblocked the drains - would have thought that the water would just back up and leak elsewhere as they are pipes running down the back right? thanks..

will check both out when stopped raining tomorrow.  Anymore thoughts anyone - thanks guys!
