Ive never had anything other than what ever number plate came with the car on all my previous motors, but ive been told the plate on my mk3 is valuable. It starts with P205 so apparently peugeot 205 owners would love it. The queation i have is how do i go about selling it? Whats the procedures and who do i contact? Dvla? How would i do a private sale? Would this fetch me more? Any and all advice appreciated cheers.

Youl need to buy it off the DVLA first!

What? Barrrstuds lol how much is that usually?

Think you'll need to scrap your car first!

Not a chance. Rang dvla. Its a ton of paperwork and £130 and obviously £20 odd quid for the new plates for you to put on. So unless im looking at £500 plus for the sale no point bothering.

no point anyway as Peugeot never made a 205 in 1998.
you would have to have a 98 or younger to put it on, as you cant make a car look younger than it is !
if its currently on your car, you own it ! and it would cost you £105 to take it off and put on retention or £80 to swap straight over to another !!!!
