Title: mk5 golf gt 2.0 fsi
Post by: johnnyvr6 on 21 November 2012, 20:14
hi my wifes 54 plate 2.0 fsi is drinking fuel, feels down on power and it idles really low, sometimes when driving the car and put your foot down it seems to hold back and all of a sudden the revs shoot up doesn't do it all the time, does this sound like a faulty maf,it has recently had a recall for the coilpack but on my sheet i got from the vw dealers of the work they did they have it down as a golf gti turbo, and it says injector recall not coilpack i have just noticed this tonight looking through my paperwork, also i thought it was drinking as it was due a service so had one and its still sh!t on fuel worse than my old vr6 and my 1.8t.

Ask the main dealers that did the coil pack job if this was indeed done.
Try undoing the connector to the air flow sensor and pushing it back on again.  The maf requires a good connection and this simple test worked for my Merc.
