Alloys and tyres went on today. I decided to go for gloss black to match the trim on the front rear and wing mirrors of the car.
Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2's - Gloss black - 8"x18" - ET45 - 9kg a corner
Tyres fitted
Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 2's - 235/40/18Y - 95XL

A couple of pics - sorry about the dirty car!

Initial impressions are.....
That the steering is definitely improved - feels quicker and a little lighter
The tyres are quieter
The deeper sidewall gives an improved ride quality
The suspension feels quicker to react to undulations and doesn't crash quite as much as before
All in all a successful mod.

Looks nice that mate!
What colour is it, is that carbon grey or something else?
-
Looks ossum! and it's the best colour, steel grey!!!

Looks very nice, steel grey is a nice colour. But I like carbon as well
-
Very nice indeed
-
How heavy are the originals?
-
Looking good John
A bit of tyre black wouldn't go a miss tho
-
been toying with a set of these or something similar on an oem theme for the 35
now get it lowered

I had the optional 19" Talladega's on and they are just over 14kg a corner. Heavy ass alloys IMO and shouldn't really be on a performance Car. VW should know better!

Once I've committed to what I want it will be on coilies, but not much lower. Probably 10-15mm max.

May want to think about the PS10s John (Did you have them on your Polo?)
I had the V3s and hated em so got rid and fitted the Bilstein PS10s, Love em to bits and incredible handling

I had B16 PSS10's on the Polo and the ED30. Before that I had Eibach's on the ED30 which were poo and basically wore out twice on the dampers in under a year! V3's have the same make damper body and so I wouldn't touch them. I'm considering the B16's, AST's or Ohlins, just need to decide. :undecided:

ASTs a bit of a harse ride for road ? Never been in a car with the Ohlins on but they sound expensive,
Id stick to what you know Billies all the way

Looks laveeelllyyyy!
I feel black alloys go well on almost any colour car!

Hurrah! Someone that realises that a Mk5/6 humped on coilies completely buggers up the handling.
10-15 mm should do the trick nicely.
Nice wheels too...can't help but think I've seen them somewhere else recently

Yes, I want the coilies for damper adjustability on track as much as lowerage. A little extra never hurts, but slamming it can screw things up royally.

Didn't realise the Tally's weighed that much! Sorry Hurdy, not a fan of black wheels myself - from a distance they look like steel wheels with the trims missing.

Nothing to be sorry about. it would be a boring world if we all liked the same thing.
