Hi all :)
Ive got a mk4 golf gt tdi. Thinking of getting it mapped but its on 89k miles.
Will the standard turbo be ok? Im worried of ruining it by mapping it.
Also ive heard stories of the clutch exploding and the duel mass getting premature wear?
Any help will be appreciated :)

Remapped a 130 the other day with 165k on the clock. Pulled as stong as a car with half the mileage  all standard equipment
As long as its been looked after it should be fine. I would recommend cleaning out the EGR valve prior to mapping it though

89K is peanuts for that car. You'll be fine as long as it isn't a bag of carp!

ah that's barely run in, i've mapped plenty of cars with 180k+ on them you just have to be sensible

mapped my ex taxi skoda thats on daily duties now, 267K as the 90 bhp was just way to boreing even for a daily hack

As already said, 89k is hardly run in and if looked after everything inc transmission should be spot on.
Any reputable tuner will conduct a full diagnostic first anyway. I actually tuned a 2002 PD130 (inc EGR OFF) tonight. It was on 107k and a very nice example to work with.
