Title: Eng man light showing -EGR VALVE

My engine man light is showing , have connected to snapon , saying egr valve,  I change the egr valve , did a reset , light came back on after 20 mins,  can any one help???

You will probably need vagcom or auto logic and basically tell the car it has a new EGR and resets all the values etc I don't know if it will apply to a golf but I have had to do it on clios and fords
