Well the week started out me needing new front discs n pads VWRs
Next up the garage found oil all over my dsg box (booked in for Monday at dealers to have a look at 10 weeks out of warranty)
And today my engine light, EPC light came on and car went into limp mode, will not rev over 2.5k
I dearn't go for a p.ss incase I brake something else

Ouch Neil :(
They say it comes in threes so you should be alright now.
Have you got the ca at the garage now or are you jst going to take it inMonday and see if they can diagnose?
If its like mine was then its a £50 sensor rather than anything major.

Thanks Buck for the words of encouragement
Car is at home and gonna drive it to the indy garage Monday morn and see if they can diagnose it before I take it to dealers for the gearbox leak,
It drives fine n smooth just in limp mode

Is it just me or do I read loads of problems with these DSG boxes? Glad I got my simple manual now,

Andy, I have never had a problem with my DSG box until now, it is a very complex piece of kit and i am sure the problem with mine is just a gasket or oil seal (hope its not a box out job to fix)
Not heard of too many problems on the mk6 apart from the odd mechatronic glitch ?
if i was to change my car i would get DSG again without a doubt  its the future

could the EPC light be on due to low gearbox oil?

I wouldn't of thought so, but you never know ?
Still the same lights on this morning, will see what the fault codes are in morning on way to dealers,
Did a few searches last night some have had the throttle bodys replaced due to EPC light on.
The EPC (Electronic Pedal Control) is the "fly by wire" system that controls the throttle, it took the place of the cable that went from the gas pedal to the throttle body on VW. If this light is on and there is also a P0102, MAF (Mass Air Flow) related code stored in the vehicle's computer, the EPC may be caused indirectly from a faulty MAF. If the EPC is on and there is no other codes stored, it could be a faulty electronic throttle body or need to be re-programmed. The vehicle's computer must recognise the throttle body so when replacing it with new or used it will need to be programmed with a Vag com Diagnostic computer.

EPC light came on our SEAT last week and it was just caused by a loose battery terminal
the EPC light can come on for just about anything. the SEAT tech said it is to warn you on an error in the electrical system.
he also said if its solid its ok to drive but if it flashes (or goes red on some models) the car shouldnt be driven
hopefully its just something stupid wrong with yours and nothing too serious
-
Hopefully not too expensive, if you need any parts then a mate works for VW and can always see whether he can help out.

Thanks for the replys
I took the car to get hooked up to vagcom on my way to the dealers this morning, the fault code that was coming up was showing the throttle switch ? i told him not to clear it and leave it on so the dealers could see it.
i took it in to the dealers for them to investigate the oil leak and also told them that my engine warning light was on,
got a phone call in the afternoon to say that they had traced the leak and it was coming from where the mechatronics unit meets the box and that a new gasket had been ordered and costs covered by VW
I picked up the car and forgot to ask about the engine light :embarrassed: was in a rush,
The code had been cleared and all was well........... at least for 15 mile before it came back on
Well at least its nothing serious and im getting the oil leak sorted under warranty, gonna drop the car into the indy garage tomorrow and leave it with them to sort the switch problem out,
Will keep this updated

Well that's good news re your gearbox.
Might be worth getting your Indy garage to ring VW and speak to their Technician to find out what they found and why they cleared the code? Sounds more like a temperamental sensor than anything else.
When mine broke down last year, the RAC guy cleared it and 5 miles up the motorway, it came back on. Faulty camshaft sensor from memory

I don't think he will call em, not got the best of relationships
Going to get him to rescan it tomorrow and sort it out  he as also saved the codes from this morning so will see how the latest ones compare,
Good news on the box tho

Started the car this morning and no EPC light on just the engine light ?
Took it back to Ricci Concept to get scanned again and left it with them to sort, he later called me and said that it needs a new throttle switch which comes as a whole accelarator pedal, it is coming in and getting fitted tomorrow so will see if this sorts the problem out ?
Just waiting for VW to call me back now to get the mechatronics gasket fitted to sort out my oil leak
-
Bit of an update on this,
had a new accelarator pedal fitted today as one of the resistors had gone, apparentley there is 2 on the pedal, one goes from 100% -0 and the other goes from 0-100% this senses the drive by wire action and one of them had stopped working, hence why the car was is limp mode, ecu dos'nt know were the pedal position is ?
I think that was what he was trying to tell me anyway
Anyway all is well now and back to normal
Just waiting on the stealers to call me now to get the new gasket fitted to sort the gearbox oil leak out,

Good to here things are getting sorted Neil...
