Title: alternator
Post by: dhorsfall2000 on 14 November 2012, 18:39
Hi, I tested my alternator earlier and the output was high, is this a big problem, is there a cheaper way to fix it other than buying a new one .       Thanks

i tested it with a alterantor/battery tester that only has lights, (no digital reading) and it said it was high, think i may have to buy a half decent multimeter

yeah ide grab a multimeter, can get them from maplin ect for around a tenner now and will give you an accurate reading, should be getting around 14v.

or if you have a friendly garage in your area could always ask to borow theres for a minuit.
