Title: Something very funny
Post by: golfvr6 on 07 October 2003, 21:37
When Walton Lodge Garage closed, Wheelbase Garage was re-established as an independent specialist for Volkswagen and Audi in Queens Road, Hersham Village.

We are now firmly established as Surrey?s leading Volkswagen and Audi specialist centre. We have been regularly quoted in The Daily Telegraphs
?Honest Johns Motoring Column?. We pride ourselves on offering an unparalleled level of service and professionalism. Many of our customers come to us on recommendation from colleagues and friends, which reinforces our strong reputation.

Wheelbase Garage are totally sh!t, one of the worst garages i've ever used. They are proud to be linked with the Telegraph and HONEST JOHN. Its looks like its all part of a bigger conspiracy to con the general public.

I've used them before and they are absolute sh!te.

Also mr VR6's mum has a rather tidy polo and it was making a noise. Now me and VR6 could tell right away it was clutch release bearing as the manual clutch cable was out of adjustment so just needed tweaking to cure it.

Wheelbase looked at the car and it still makes as laugh as they diagnosed worn water pump mounts.

Now I dont know about you but I always thought that water pumps are bolted directly to the engine block.

Yep your right about waterpumps. The cable on the polo is a self-adjusting type, but there is a spring that tensions on the release lever, this was not tight enough(not enough spring tension). So there was too much play on the clutch bearing. Still makes me laugh, Wheelbase ridiculed my dad for suggesting that the problem was clutch or gearbox related, they said it must be the waterpump mounts. Even though the noise disappeared when the clutch was depressed! no had to be waterpump mounts. Stay well clear of Wheelbase of Hersham, they are crooks and scumbags.
