Title: Belts changed..

So ive no history with my new golf and due to squeaks n worries i want the belts changed, cam kit, alternator and piwer steering. Ive got a quote of £115 from a garage for the labour and a cam brlt kit and the other 2 belts off ebay is only £57 so i think ive got a bit of a bargain.. Am i right? Or am i missing something? The same garage say £218 for parts n labour all in. Im thinking i get the parts myself and use the money id save on an oil n filter change. Advice?

Not an option mate. I got no tools and less knowhow. Garage is only option. Sounds like a gooddeal to me

£115 for a mornings work?

I would have that done by 10:00am with tea breaks, but I guess this is why I do my own work because I think they all rip offs.

VW would charge you £350 with Cambelt change and service  :laugh:
