i have a brand new genuine monza shadow with new bridgestone potenza.
never fitted - was a rpelacement from the dealers but i decided i dont want it - going to put the money towards a new set of OZ instead
whats this NEW wheel and tyre worth to sell?
anyone interested?
-
Realistically about £350 top dollar but if I were you I'd wack it on fleebay at 99p with a decent reserve and see how it plays out...
Nothing to loose except the ad fee and reserve cost...
-
hmm would have thought £350 for the wheel but would expect more with a brand new tyre fitted too
-
It would have cost the dealer more than that
-
ALOT more - it took them 3 attempts to get a tyre on a rim without damaging the wheel - that 4 wheels they damaged!
i asked the manager and he said they have a 10% mark up so the wheels arent cheap even to dealers
-
Aren't they like £500 a wheel from the dealer? With a brand new tyre you've got to be looking at £450 at least??
-
There worth nothing at all. Ill give you 50quid to clear your garage
-
First things first...
I know there £500 odd a wheel new(I have them myself) lol
And yes in a idea world you cud get more but it's a buyers market out there and everyone's after a bargain, including ourselves..
I bought mine for £650 without tyres and they were brand new...I troll fleebay regularly and the shadows are becoming more and more available...
When I sold the Seattles which were without tyres I first started it at £300 but after a couple of days no interest so lowered it to 99p to hopefully get some bidders and walaaaaa they sold for just under £800..
But honestly mkviken stick it on eBay with a reserve and see how you go...

I removed one of your posts as you double posted...or were you just getting your post count up

Sorry I am on my phone and it's very slow and I may have hit the post button twice. I would stick it on eBay and it's true value will be what you get I guess

yeah i would have thought about £400-£450 with the new tyre fitted to be honest.
theres a genuine but refurbed wheel on ebay going for £325
theres a lot of old style 18" monzas for sale but shadows are harder to come by and most wheels require a refurb.
-
I would say put them on ebay at 99p with NO reserve. As the bids go up and the reserve is still not met, it puts people off bidding. People much prefer to bid on something they think they stand a chance of winning. Not only are they having to out guess other bidders, they're having to out guess the seller too when there is a high reserve.
The fail safe is to get a mate to set up a snipe bid with seconds to go to make sure he wins them if the price is too low, then tell ebay that the sale didn't go through. That way you won't incur any commission fees.
-
I'd stick it on E-bay as a "Buy it Now" for around £400 with a "Make Offer" option.
With them both being brand new (& presumably balanced and ready to fit) I think you'd get around £350-£400 if you're patient.
Alternatively you could split them and sell separately ... it's surprising how much brand new tyres go for on E-bay.
These Glendales were a different size, and it's not clear what they finally sold for, but they were asking over £500 per corner :-

Wait a month or two till the superior GTI driver skills with summer tires slides into a curb due to bad weather......
-
Yeah there are bound to be a few of those incidents in the coming months!
-
Good evening folks, I am new to the GTI brigade having just bought a new Candy White one less than a week ago! I took one already in stock and with no extras so I'm trying to track down a set of Monza shadows. Mkviken if you could email me maybe we might be able to come to an arrangement, even though you live on the other side of the world to me, so to speak. :embarrassed:
-

Sorry to high jack a little mkviken...
@EliteBajan, keep a look out in the EBay Bargain Hunter Section as I regularly update it with wheels ect such as the Shadows your after...only a couple of days ago a set that needed refurbing went for £200 odd
-
Mr GTD thanks for the heads up. I'll keep looking, but keep me in mind if anything comes up.
-
Keep in mind most monzas on eBay are mk5 BBS type and not ronal mk6 ones
Also most need a refurb at around £100 a wheel so be careful buying used/scratched rims

This is true, and I'm the first to ask the Gen/Maker/Part No question...I only post Ronal made wheels in the MK6 Bargain Hunter Section...and I will of course keep you informed EliteBajan.

Blimey! Those wheels have had a hard life haven't they??
-
Yep they are clearly from someone who didn't give a hoot about them...
-
Thanks Steve,
I will keep an eye on them but they do look like they've been through the wars! But I suppose once they are not warped or buckled that a good refurb will breath life back into them. I hope
-
mkviken - PM sent
-
Sorry, excuse my ignorance! I don't know how to retrieve pm's. but Steve sad I need to have reached 10 post first anyway. But I have emailed you anyway.
